CONSUMER GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE

 

In order to maintain a harmonious and cooperative relationship between clients, child care providers, and agency staff, it is the policy of Transylvania County Child Development Resource and Referral agency to provide for the settlement of problems and differences through an orderly grievance procedure. Every client or child care provider shall have the right to present his/her problem or grievance in accordance with this established procedure free from interference, coercion, restraint, discrimination or reprisal.

STEP ONE – The client or child care provider shall present their problem or grievance orally or in writing to the services supervisor. The supervisor shall consult with all individuals necessary to reach a correct, impartial, and fair determination and shall provide the individual with an answer as soon as possible, but within five (5) working days.

STEP TWO – If the decision of Step One is not satisfactory to the individual or if the supervisor fails to respond within the designated time period, the individual may file the grievance in writing to the DSS Director. The DSS Director shall hear the grievance and render a decision in writing within a maximum of ten (10) working days.

STEP THREE – If the decision in Step Three is not satisfactory to the individual, the DSS Director will execute the County Grievance Policy.

 

Transylvania County Child Development is a public agency which provides services without regard to race, color, sex, age, religion, political affiliation or national origin.
