Philosophy

Early Head Start:Children develop to their full potential when their environment meets all their needs. This environment must continue from home to the school. Families and schools must partner to insure that, to the best of their ability, this happens for every child. We believe that a safe, learning-rich, environmentally based program builds relationships and makes the most of everyday routines and activities that promote children’s overall development.

Head Start:Through a comprehensive approach to the education of young children, it is possible to strengthen the abilities of children to cope with school and their total environment, and thus help them look forward to a brighter future. Children must both be physically and mentally healthy in order to free their minds to learn; therefore, provisions must be made for the children’s health and nutritional needs, along with their intellectual, emotional, and social needs. Parents are the first and most important teachers of their children, and the development and program involvement of parents positively influences their children’s learning and development. Providing staff at all levels with training to improve job performance and opportunities for career advancement results in a stronger program for children and families.
